We're seeking a full-time Program Coordinator to lead diverse, underserved, and special needs youth programs in Minneapolis/St. Paul and surrounding suburbs. Programs are typically weekly at multiple schools and community partner sites. Employee will have the opportunity to work in our Afterschool, Special Needs, and Juvenile Diversion programs.  The employee is expected to work 40 hours per week, and core programs spanning 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Thursday, with more flexibility of hours on Fridays, and occasional weekend activities.

Some kids today face an opportunity gap that has contributed to an achievement gap. The right person can use this job and our non-formal, hands-on curriculum to help narrow these gaps and make a difference in the lives of youth. This position is an excellent opportunity to mentor youth (ages 5-18) and gain valuable youth-development experience. Training and an established curriculum are provided.

Primary responsibilities include:
* Plan, develop, and implement fun, educational and age-appropriate activities using established curriculum in Afterschool, Special Needs or Juvenile Diversion settings.
* Serve as a positive role model to youth of diverse backgrounds by fostering a positive learning environment to develop team-working, leadership, and confidence-building skills.
* Help the director with administrative work to manage the program.
* Work with the director and on-site program coordinator to manage behavior of youth in the program.
* Complete administrative responsibilities: track youth attendance, complete advancement reports, administer youth evaluations, complete meeting plans, gather materials and supplies, etc.
* Participate in field trips and special events as needed.
* Attend mandatory weekly meetings and training sessions.

Qualifications include:
* General: Must be 21 years of age or older. Must be able to work the schedule listed above.
* Experience with Scouting, or other youth organizations is preferred though not required.
* Education: High school diploma or GED is required, with some college preferred.
* Experience: Must have some experience (minimally one year) working with urban youth ages 5-18 in education, youth development, recreation, social services, or after school/community programs.
* Must be able to run a fun and educational program, learn and use the curriculum, and serve as a leader and positive role model for youth.
* Must be flexible and able to adjust to last-minute program changes as needed.

* Must have strong organizational and communication skills, and a positive attitude.
* Must be able to complete required training and paperwork, track participants' progress in achieving goals, and maintain and submit accurate records. Strong organizational and communication skills are needed.
* Must hold and maintain a valid driver's license, have reliable transportation, ability to drive to program sites, and current automobile insurance at levels of $100,000/$300,000/$100,000.

Compensation starts at $29,719 annually, and annual increases are based on performance. Reimbursement for approved mileage is provided.
