Seeking a Delivery Driver/Prep Cook for the remainder of the summer, through August 21, 2017 at Tomahawk Scout Reservation, located near Birchwood, Wisconsin, approximately one hour north of Eau Claire and 2 hours from the Twin Cities. 

This employee is responsible for the delivery of food to dining shelters and campsites. Also responsible for food prep (counting out portions, loading trucks). Reports to the Food Service Director.

Compensation is $500 per week. Room and board are also provided, though they are optional.

Specific responsibilities include:
Maintain the food delivery truck in good mechanical condition. Check regularly the oil, water, battery, tires and safety equipment - lights, horn, windshield wipers, brakes. Refer items for repair to the Camp Ranger.

Operate on the food delivery schedule as posted at the camp kitchen.

Clean the food delivery truck and loading dock area daily.

Collect recyclable items from the main kitchen, Chippewa Dining Hall and Sioux Troop Service Building and deliver to the collection containers in the maintenance area

Insure that the truck assigned to you is driven only by authorized drivers (drivers are authorized by the Reservation Director and Camp Ranger). Remove keys from the vehicle whenever it is parked. The vehicle is not to be used for any other purposes without the approval of the Reservation Director.

Preparation, delivery and unloading of food stacks for each meal.

Preparation: Arrive at the kitchen at least one hour before every meal, load the cold crates, extra bread, milk, ice and food stacks into the food delivery truck. Check all kitchen counts to make certain that nothing was forgotten.

Delivery: Delivery is to be on time or early following the schedule posted in the kitchen. In general, your last stop should be by the posted meal time in the leader's manual. At White Pine subcamp, instruct staff on how to serve each meal.

Unloading: After every meal, proceed to pick-up all food stacks, cold crates and empty milk crates.

Qualifications include:

Must be over the age of 18 with a valid driver's license, and with no moving violations in the last two years.

Work location: Must be able to commute to camp, or live at camp (N1910 Scout Road, Birchwood, WI 54817); room and board are provided. A private cabin will provided within walking distance of the kitchen. If the employee chooses to commute, private cabin will be available for breaks.

Work schedule: Requires working six days per week, with one day off during mid week (the day off is usually Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday). Requires being on site daily from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM; includes both a morning and afternoon break. Must be able to maintain regular attendance. May sometimes require accessibility outside of normal business hours to deal with after-hours emergencies.

Interpersonal skills: Must have the ability to get along with staff, youth campers, volunteers and vendors, and maintain a friendly and helpful attitude. Must have the ability to effectively enforce established kitchen (and camp) policies and procedures, and manage staff effectively.

Must be able to work independently as well as cooperatively, and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
