Make a difference in the lives of youth and families by working for Northern Star Scouting, Boy Scouts of America. We are seeking a full-time Camping Director to implement camping programs for youth and their families. While the position is based out of the Twin Cities, during the summer camping season (June through August) the director must be able to reside at Phillippo Scout Reservation in Cannon Falls, MN. Must enjoy working with volunteers and demonstrate a passion for camp and youth programs.

Responsibilities include the organization and implementation of youth camping programs; manage seasonal camp staff and direct supervision of camp maintenance personnel; manage budgets and volunteer resources; apply promotional efforts to attract campers; support of volunteers and other staff members to deliver high-quality camping programs.

Qualifications include a Bachelor's degree or equivalent; business management experience is preferred in budget, supervisory, and program development and implementation; must be a dependable, goal-oriented self-starter and problem-solver; able to work independently and also be an effective team leader and team player; strong group facilitation, communication and interpersonal skills; creativity with the ability to multi-task while adhering to established deadlines and accuracy expectations. Experience in Boy, or Girl Scouting, community day camps, and/or family camping is preferred though not required.

Must be able to work full-time days and some evenings and weekends. Must be willing to relocate for future promotion. Position requires travel around the Twin Cities area and to the camp using one's own vehicle; mileage reimbursement is provided for business miles. Must have a valid driver's license, motor vehicle insurance ($100k/$300k/$100k), and reliable transportation.

Compensation starts at an annual salary of $38,000, increasing to $40,000 after completion of training; annual increases are based on performance.
