Base Camp is seeking qualified candidates to join our team of part-time program Guides to lead groups of youth and/or adults on a variety of experiences that inspire active learning. These activities include team building exercises, rock climbing, outdoor skills (such as fire building, survival, orienteering, shelters), high ropes, leadership development, archery, and STEM-based programs like robotics. With training and the help of Base Camp leadership, the Guides provide each group with a valuable and unique Base Camp experience. This is an excellent opportunity to gain experience leading groups of youth and adults. Training will be provided.

Qualifications include:
o Preference is for candidates who have experience working directly with youth, such as working in the classroom, outdoor recreation sites, summer youth camp, or other experience working with youth.
o Experience working with diverse populations between ages of 7 to 21 is also desired.
o Applicants from diverse backgrounds are encouraged to apply.
o Strong communication skills are needed.
o Must be age 16 and older.

Location: Base Camp is located at 6202 Bloomington Road, Fort Snelling, MN, 55111, near the Fort Snelling light-rail station and near the MSP airport.

Work schedule: Currently, we are looking for individuals available to work weekday programs that occur between the hours of 8:00 AM and 4:00 PM. Base Camp programs occur during evenings and weekends as well, and availability during these times is also desirable. The number of hours staff will work varies based on their personal availability as well as reservations on our program calendar. Staff are scheduled each week for the following 10 to 16 days in advance based on their own availability making this role a very flexible opportunity that can work well with other scheduled involvements staff may have.

Compensation: $14 per hour for Lead Guides age 21 and up who have additional experience and responsibility on staff, $13 for Guides age 18 and up, $11 per hour for Junior Guides age 16 and 17.
