Make a difference in the lives of youth and families by working for Northern Star Scouting. We're seeking a Registration Assistant to provide internal and external customer service over the phone, through web-based services, and in person. Responsibilities include maintaining the membership database, processing member and unit applications and renewals, processing payments, answering inquiries, preparing correspondence, running reports, analyzing data, staying up to date with heavy data entry, providing back up to main switchboard/customer service desk, process improvement, and other general office duties. This position has significant volunteer contact/customer service.

This position is located at Base Camp, our new office complex located near the MSP Airport (Fort Snelling). The work schedule for this position is Monday through Friday, with hours from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM. Occasional overtime hours may be required.

Qualifications include:
o Able to learn and implement registration policies and procedures. Experience with a large, complex membership database is preferred.
o Strong customer service skills.
o Basic math, typing and computer software skills (Office 365, Outlook, Word and Excel).
o Able to work cooperatively and patiently with customers and co-workers.
o Accurate, dependable, and detail oriented, and be a team player and problem solver.
o Able to multi-task and handle frequent interruptions in a fast-paced environment.
o Able to adapt to changing methodologies and technology, maintain confidentiality, and exercise judgment.
o Applicants from diverse backgrounds and/or who have multilingual skills are encouraged to apply.
o Experience in Scouting is preferred though not required.
o A high school diploma or equivalent is required; some college is preferred.

Northern Star Council offers a comfortable office environment and free parking. The council offers paid time off (equivalent of 16 days annually for new hires) and 11 annual holidays. The starting salary range is $16.85 to $18.85 per hour depending on qualifications; annual increases are based on performance.

The desired start date for this position is July 16, 2018, though this is negotiable.
