Seeking a summer Climbing/Crafts/STEM Director to work full time at Stearns Scout Camp, located near Annandale, MN. The camp season runs from June 5 through August 24, 2018.

Starting pay is $46 per day for 50 days/nights. Benefits include making a difference in the lives of youth, a fun work environment, and an opportunity to build lasting memories and lifelong skills including leadership and problem solving.

General responsibility: The Director is responsible facilitating crafts and STEM program activities, and for leading climbing operations safely and in accordance with quality standards. This position provides training and instruction to youth and adult participants.

Specific responsibilities include:
- Reviews, updates and/or creates outlines for assigned programs.
- Leads crafts and STEM programs.
- Trains and supervises camp staff in climbing responsibilities. Leads a team of 2 other staff members for facilitating climbing activities and other area responsibilities.
- Maintains and enforces all BSA climbing safety standards.
- Maintains the physical appearance and safety of the climbing area.
- Maintains inventory and coordinates check-in/check-out of all area equipment to protect against equipment misuse, damage and loss. Informs the Camp Director of equipment to be ordered or repaired. Informs the Camp Director of charges for damaged or lost equipment.
- Participates in camp-wide activities.
- Performs other duties as assigned by the Camp Director.

Qualifications include:
- Must be age 21 or older.
- Must have effective leadership skills, be able to lead and supervise staff, and enforce policies and procedures.
- Familiarity with crafts and STEM are preferred, or willingness to learn.
- Must be able to attend a locally-hosted training weekend and complete basic Climbing Instructor certification.
- Must be physically capable of demonstrating strong abilities for rock climbing and belaying.
- Must be willing and able to get along with staff, youth campers, and adult volunteers, provide good customer service, and maintain a friendly and helpful attitude.
- Must be able to live at camp or live near the camp. Room and board/meals are provided though they are optional. Accommodations are outdoor shared tents. If the employee chooses to reside off site, an area is available for breaks.
- Must be able to maintain regular attendance; the work schedule is 8 AM to 7 PM daily. Will have one day off per week.
