Make a difference in the lives of kids. We're seeking a full-time Camping Executive for a youth-development organization headquartered in St. Paul, MN. This position is responsible for implementing all youth camping programs at Stearns Scout Camp. It requires management of seasonal camp staff; direct supervision of camp maintenance personnel; management of budgets and volunteer resources; organizational and communication skills; promotional efforts to attract campers; and support of volunteers and other staff members to deliver high-quality camping programs. May include working with volunteers to achieve fundraising goals.

Experience with community day camps and family camping is preferred.

While the position is based out of St. Paul, during the summer camping season (June through August), the executive must be able to reside at Stearns Scout Camp in South Haven, MN.

Qualifications include:

Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent.

Experience: Business/management experience is preferred, including budget, supervisory, and program development/implementation experience.

Skills: Must be a goal-oriented self-starter and problem-solver, with strong organizational skills and verbal and written communications skills. Creativity and ability to juggle multiple projects while adhering to deadlines are important attributes for this position. Other qualifications include being a team leader and team player, able to work independently, and dependable, accurate, and detail oriented.

Applicants from diverse backgrounds are encouraged to apply. Must enjoy working with volunteers and demonstrate a passion for camp and youth programs. Experience in Boy or Girl Scouting is helpful though not required.

Must be able to work full-time days and some evenings and weekends. Must be willing to relocate for future promotion.

Position requires travel around the Twin Cities area and to the camp using one's own vehicle; mileage reimbursement is provided for business miles. Must have a valid driver's license, motor vehicle insurance ($100K/$300K/$100K), and reliable transportation.

Benefits include health, dental and vision insurance, health savings plan, thrift and retirement plans, 11 paid holidays, and Paid Time Off (equivalent to 16 days per year).

Compensation starts at $35,000 annually, increasing to $37,000 after completing training; annual increases are based on performance.

Desired start date is January 1.
